Introducing DrugSIMS: a new approach unveils drug targets inside the “black box” of the cell

A research incubator within AstraZeneca’s BioVentureHub recently applied advanced imaging instrumentation within a specialized workflow, creating a new solution for quantifying intracellular drug concentrations: DrugSIMS™.
 
Key to DrugSIMS’s success is a NanoSIMS mass spectrometer, which images and measures elemental and isotopic distribution with ultra-high spatial resolution and sensitivity. So drugs and nanoparticles can finally be accurately localized and quantified at organelle level. 
 
This unique capability may be accessed by researchers and drug discovers worldwide on a contract basis.
